Looking for You Endlessly

I would not miss any picture exhibition,
I would go to studios,
I would peered behind easels
And looked for your picture
For identity papers
Under palette
Which they use for your portrait when you are absent.
I would go to the museums
And swore in front of  women figures
From the Bronze Age
That I was the greatest fan of archeology in the world,
Even greater than the late doctor Jon Nestor
Who was looking for the past with a paintbrush 
And he found all those things he had dug up also with a spade.
I would not miss any market
To observe  women's faces of those selling
And those with string bags
Somewhere at the exit
I would stay till the end of the morning
Until washmen  would come with hoses
Among the counters to sweep away all around
And wash their faces and legs.
I would stay for hours
In front of shop windows just arranged
And stare at them as at a distant past trying
In radiant smiles of the plastic dolls
To see something I had not seen before
And to begin to talk to those
Who cannot give me the answer.
Always I think up something new about you
And some new features I add to your face,
Perhaps I will never find you
But I am sure you exist like that somewhere.

আমি মিস করতাম না কোনো ছবির প্রদর্শনী,
  স্টুডিওতে যেতাম আমি,
চিত্রফলকের পিছনে আমি দর্শন দিতাম
আর তোমার ছবি খুঁজেছিলাম
পরিচয়পত্রের জন্য
প্যালেটের অধীনে
যা তারা ব্যবহার করে তোমার প্রতিকৃতির জন্য যখন তুমি  অনুপস্থিত থাকো
আমি যেতাম যাদুঘরে
এবং শপথ করেছিলাম মহিলা প্রতিকৃতিদের সামনে
ব্রোঞ্জ যুগ থেকে
যে আমি ছিলাম বিশ্বের প্রত্নতত্ত্বের সবচেয়ে বড় ভক্ত,
প্রয়াত ডাক্তার জন নেস্টরের চেয়েও বড়
যে তুলি দিয়ে অতীত খুঁজছিল 
এবং সে কোদাল দিয়ে খুঁড়ে খুঁড়ে সেই সব জিনিস খুঁজে পেয়েছিল
আমি  মিস করতাম না কোন বাজার
সেই বিক্রি করা নারীদের মুখ পর্যবেক্ষণ করার
এবং তন্তুর ব্যাগের সঙ্গে সেইগুলো
কোথাও বের হওয়ার পথে
থাকতাম সকালের শেষ পর্যন্ত
যতক্ষণ না ধোপারা পায়ের পাতার মোজাবিশেষ নিয়ে আসত
কাউন্টারগুলোর মধ্যে চারদিকে ঝাড়ু দিতে
এবং তাদের মুখমন্ডল ও পা ধৌত করতে
থাকতাম ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা
শুধু সাজানো দোকানের জানালার সামনে
এবং দূর অতীতের মতো তাদের দিকে তাকান চেষ্টা
প্লাস্টিকের পুতুলের উজ্জ্বল হাসিতে
এমন কিছু দেখতে যা দেখিনি আগে
এবং কথা বলা শুরু তাদের সাথে
যে আমাকে পারে না উত্তর দিতে
আমি সবসময় তোমার সম্পর্কে নতুন কিছু চিন্তা করি
এবং কিছু নতুন বৈশিষ্ট্য আমি তোমার মুখে যোগ করি,
হয়তো তোমাকে পাবো না কখনো
তবে আমি নিশ্চিত যে তুমি কোথাও এমনই আছো

About the Poet
Nedeljko Terzic (12 May 1949) born at Sremska Mitrovica city - Republic of Serbia, is a prominent Serbian writer, an author of the fifty five book titles.The first verses he published as a high school student  in 1967, and already in 1969 he published  in the daily press, with his original signature. He is represented in more than a hundred anthologies and poetry elections in Serbia and abroad. He has won a number of literary awards and recognitions both in Serbia and abroad. His first book “Silence with the plains” he published in 1975. the first bilingual  (Serbian-Slovakia) edition of the book of poetry “The Lake at a Glance” was published in 1980 Since 1982. His poems have been published in many countries. He has participated in many international literary festivals. He also associates with foreign journals and periodicals
