poet and writer A popular poem by the popular poet: Ahmed Ben Turki 1650-1750 Tlemcen Province About the poet: Ahmed Ben Triki was born in Tlemcen in Ottoman Algeria during the Ottoman period in 1650 to a Turkish father and an Arab mother. He belongs to the Karagla tribe, which was widespread in Tlemcen. He began writing poetry at an early age, and his teacher was the popular poet Said El Mandsi. Ahmed Ben Triki is considered one of the great names in the famous Tlemcen poetry, Hawzi. He is described as; "The anthem of spring and love" like other famous Malhoun poets such as Boumediene Bensahla and Mohamed Ben Messaib, it is a source of information about the customs of the era and the state of mentalities, and the development of the language in that era. Ben Triki was expelled from the city of Tlemcen, at the request of some fathers of the Karagla families. He went into exile in the Beni Yznassen region. He wrote many of his poems during this period of exile to express the painful separation from his homeland. Among his most prominent poems is this poem; "Lovers of Zine" This song was known before the Algerian revolution, in the fifties of the last century, when the great artist Ahmed Wahbi sang it again at the request of the poet Abdelkader El Khaldi, who saw that it was a poem that should be sung and repeated, and he immortalized it in one of the most wonderful classics of Wahrani art, so it became one of the most famous songs in Algerian heritage. This song was sung many times on occasions after the revolution and became one of the most famous songs that made the great artist Ahmed Wahbi known, such as "Oran, Oran", "Alash Telmouni", "Yamina", "Sirj Ya Faris Al Latam", as it is a popular art style, not Rai art, and the most famous person to sang it was the late artist Omar Zahi. Among those who repeated it were the artist Mohamed Taher Al-Farqani in the nineties of the last century and the artist Salim Al-Shawi in commemoration of the spirit of the late Ahmed Wahbi in 2022. Lyrics of the poem: Oh lovers of beauty, help me, my heart is sad You wounded my cheeks with tears, always flowing You lit the fire of separation in my guide and separation continued Oh my father, my longing, my heart was at ease since you said no... This beautiful beauty, how can anyone enjoy it? There is no one like you in the countries, beautiful and swaying Your love is impregnable for your lover Come on, my father, my longing, my heart was at ease since you said no These people envied me for your love, oh branch of despair, withered by sleep Your eyes are like the eyes of a gazelle All who measured beauty and turned to the full moon are ignorant My father, my longing, my heart was at ease since you said no The matter of love is great My patience was lost The heart is always anxious In this injustice, its owner will never ask, my soul is at ease I wrote you a contract in the handwriting of justice Oh my father, my longing, my heart was at ease Who said no to you, O most beautiful of moons, Your beauty would consume ages in all lands, There is none like you, Haifa Zabala, my mind has flown, There is nothing like my love, from and to, my father, my longing, my heart has been at ease, Who said no to you, Your height is a slender branch, It has become a temptation to people, Your cheek is truly a fresh rose In a meadow of blooming gardens, What a garden can harvest, Your eyebrows are pruned with the blades of my father, My longing, my heart has been at ease, Who said no to you, Your neck is a pure neck, As if it were an apple found in distress, And the lips are agate, And the chest is a ruby, Torching the locks are dusk, And on your forehead is a moon that shines, My father, my longing, my heart has been at ease, Who said no to you, Lala...
