ESCAPE FROM THE HEART

You chose to escape, taking refuge in the chaos of life,
You denied the caresses of the soul, wounded
By the noise of conventions and the din of a thousand excuses…

In your sleepless nights the silence speaks to you of me,
When the world is silent, the soul listens to my voice,
In the whisper that sweetly does not fade.

It bounces like an echo between the walls,
The restlessness reminds you that love has never vanished.
It is there, hidden under the tiles of your fears.

You can’t free yourself from me… You will ask yourself
Why despite the distance, the heart continues to beat
To the rhythm of our melodies?

You can’t escape the truth,
Not even time can do it
And our story will never be over,
It only remains suspended, waiting
For that courage, son of truth.

We are destinies engraved by the universe,
We are infinite.
You have built fences to the heart,
An architect fleeing from the solution.

Unbearable prison…
But when the noise will extinguish the silence
You will hear my voice, stronger than ever.

Because true love does not fade,
It burns strong, even under the ashes of your fears.

You will run into my arms then,
Free to be yourself.

Escape is just a mere illusion.

Love binds us with its invisible thread,
Infinite and imperishable.

About the Poetess :
Cinzia Rota was born in Milan (Italy). A poet and writer, she began her artistic career at a young age with the production of poems and short stories as well as with graphic studies of image processing. She collaborates with radio stations and theatre workshops as a writer, actress and voice actor. She has published 3 books and many anthologies.  She has received prestigious awards at national and international literary events.
