One World, One Voice
Marlon Salem Gruezo-Bondroff ( Philippines-USA)
Beneath the same vast, boundless sky,
Where every dream takes wings to fly,
We walk with hearts both bold and free,
Yet some are shackled—why must this be?
The color of skin, the sound of a name,
No measure of worth, no ground for shame.
Each soul a treasure, each story unique,
Discrimination silences what we must speak.
The flowers bloom in hues untold,
A vibrant canvas for us to behold.
So why should a heart, a voice, a face,
Be judged by creed, by land, by race?
March forward, let the message be clear,
No room for hate, no place for fear.
Hand in hand, let love lead the way,
For we are one on this World Anti-Discrimination Day.
May this call echo far and wide,
A world where no one’s worth is denied.
Together we rise, a chorus of hope,
Binding the world with an unbreakable rope.
Not All Red Hearts on Valentine's
Marlon Salem Gruezo-Bondroff (Philippines-USA)
In shadows cast by candlelight,
Where whispered secrets come to rest,
Lies torn asunder, dreams take flight,
A heart once pure, now put to test.
Sweet promises of yesteryear,
Turned bitter by a lover's lies,
In eyes once bright, now tainted tears,
The depth of pain, a harsh disguise.
Not all red hearts on Valentine's,
Are filled with love's true, steady beat,
For some, the crimson hue defines,
A broken heart, now incomplete.
In whispered halls of sweet deceit,
Where trust was shattered, vows undone,
The warmth of love turned cold retreat,
As moon gives way to sorrow's sun.
Unfaithful nights and cheating days,
Where once was joy, now misery,
Deceit's dark tendrils weave a maze,
That traps the soul, no longer free.
Disloyal lips, a kiss once pure,
Now poisoned by a traitor's touch,
In quiet rooms where ghosts endure,
The pain of love that gave too much.
On this day of hearts and flowers,
Remember those whose love has bled,
For not all hearts bask in love's powers,
Some dwell in shadows, tears unshed.
Of Moon and New Beginnings
Marlon Salem Gruezo-Bondroff (Philippines-USA)
Beneath the silver glow of moonlit skies,
A new year dawns, where ancient wisdom lies.
With bright lanterns, we cast away the night,
Embracing dreams that shimmer in the light.
The past, a tapestry of lessons learned,
In every thread, a memory is discerned.
We honor those who walked this path before,
Their whispers guide us, evermore.
In every heart, a spark of hope ignites,
A promise of new journeys, bold and bright.
We shed the weight of yesteryears' refrain,
And dance with joy, unburdened by the pain.
The dragon's roar, the lion's graceful leap,
Awakens spirits from their winter sleep.
With every beat of drums, our spirits rise,
To greet the future with unclouded eyes.
The moon, a sentinel of time's embrace,
Reflects the courage etched upon each face.
We step into the unknown, hand in hand,
Together, we will conquer every land.
Here's a toast to life, to love, to cheer,
To new beginnings, free from doubt and fear.
With hearts aligned, beneath the lunar glow,
We face the future, ready to bestow.
